Agape Clinic

Agape Community Health Clinic was established to develop and maintain primary health care in Beaufort, Hyde, Pamlico, and Martin Counties for all residents desiring services and especially for individuals with limited access to medical care.

Agape will provide primary medical care, basic laboratory services, case management, eligibility assistance, and pastoral counseling. We have received special funding that allows us to provide services for a very low co-payment to those who are within poverty guidelines and meet program requirements. At Agape, the medical staff is under the direction of an Internal Medicine physician and HIV Specialist. We are also staffed by a Physician's Assistant (PA), a Medical Office Assistant (MOA), and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Agape’s business practices are supervised by an office manager.

• Assistance with applying to pharmaceutical companies for participation in the indigent Care Programs.
• Educational Classes and Videos

Medical Access Plan (MAP) Covered Services

• Medically required encounters and on-site care
• Medically required on-site and practice-billed reference laboratory tests
• The portion of medically required x-rays taken and/or read on-site
• Non-elective surgery services performed by practice providers
• Hospital, nursing home, and home-care services performed by practice providers

MAP Eligibility

The determination of eligibility for the MAP program is based on total household income. An individual must qualify for the MAP Program and cannot have any type of insurance. Proof of income sources and Medicaid/Medicare and Health Choice denials required.

Additional Goals and Services

• The Agape Community Health Clinic will strive to meet the needs of all residents of Beaufort County and surrounding areas by treating the entire individual.
• We have a Spanish interpreter available for our Spanish-speaking population. We have literature, signs, and MAP Applications available in Spanish.
• We participate in the State Migrant Worker Program, as well as the State Immunization Program.
• We are networking with the entire healthcare community to maintain a referral base of specialists and local hospitals where they have admitting privileges.
• We are developing a Continued Quality Improvement Program to assure services provided meet high medical standards and are accessible, affordable, and efficient.
• We will continue to seek funding and volunteers to accommodate the needs of the populations we serve.

Agape Clinic is currently working to provide more comprehensive services to more patients. During this time, however, services will remain available.
